Thirty years ago I had three children and was getting a divorce. I got pregnant with a child that was not my husband’s. The baby’s father did not love me or want anything to do with me. I lived in Louisiana far from my home in Massachusetts. I could have had an abortion. No one in Massachusetts would ever know. I moved back to Massachusetts and lived with my children in a homeless shelter an hour away from my friends and family. I got divorced in August and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy the following April. I did not raise my son but I loved him and visited him often. He knew I loved him. Today he is a good person, kind and considerate and easygoing, fun to be with and a hardworking student at University of Buffalo Law School. On this day, his twenty ninth birthday, he called me to thank me for not having an abortion twenty nine years ago. We are both thankful that I chose life. That is why I am writing this blog.#Community
